New people, new features, new arrivals :p

I just wanted to throw a quick blog posts up here so you can get idea of where we are at.

We brought Zack Kitzmiller (@ZackKitzmiller) on board to help with development of Project Management. Zack kicks ass, some might even say he is amazing, but straight to the point Zack is kicking the crap out of our list of Todos.

So far Zack has contributed far more than just SLOC, Zack has brought with him a wealth of knowledge from his other projects such as Forrst, Streak.ly and CloudIgniter.

So what does this mean to you?

It means that Pancake PM is going to seriously rock, Pancake will be a Version 2.0 release as the entire codebase has been reworked or freshly created. We do not want to put out a half assed release and you don’t want that either.

The other major thing going on right now is that my wife and I are expecting our second child any day now; the baby will arrive by Monday @ 8am at the latest. We have a son who turned 6 at the end of October and for 6 years he has been an only child.

I’ve had a giant “honeydo” list that I had to tackle in regards to getting everything ready for the baby. Along with that I really wanted to make these last few weeks of Fall and only child/dad time as awesome as it could be for Hunter. This has been the reason for my lack of communication and the blog/twitter/facebook front has been a bit quiet as a result.

I’ve been trying to juggle all of my commitments and when it comes down to spending 30 minutes here and an hour there of free time wisely I decided it was best spent working towards this next release’s codebase then blogging etc.

Along with that I have implemented a highly anticipated and much requested member area. This will allow you to login and view your licenses and download the latest release, no more having to hunt for your purchase receipt to download the latest version. Along with this feature we will roll out a new forum setup (Using ExpressionEngine forums rather than Vanilla) that allows us to offer those of you who have purchased Pancake very timely support.

This will be awesome for all of us and I am very pleased with it.

In the next couple days you will receive an email with your new login and password and where you can find the new member area.

We are trying to be as transparent as we can around here as well as working our asses off to get this next release shippable, it’s a crazy time, but its also a highly productive time.

Like a baby, It’s worth the wait ;)
