Like all great Super Heroes, everyone needs multiple identities!
One of the best ways to build a sustainable small business is by diversifying your offerings. Now, I'm not talking about being a print designer and selling "pre-loved" golf balls (though if you're as bad as a golfer as I am you often find many of them in the pursuit of your misplaced ball).
Rather, I am talking about finding a niche and branding yourself to accommodate that. So while you may normally be "Clever & Smith Design Co" it might sometimes be advantageous to be "Bells & Lace Design Co" to market your wedding invitation line of products.
Had you done that in the past you would have needed to have more than one accounting software (be that Pancake or a SaaS offering) and kept track of things separately.
Not any longer!!
Pancake now has multiple business identities, yes plural, to allow you complete flexibility when it comes to control of your company.
You can create as many identities as you like, each with its own details and logo and assign those identities to a client. Then as you invoice one client Pancake uses one identity and when you invoice another it uses, well, another identity.
This is HUGE. It is one of the most requested features and we're very pleased to release it today.
I personally have employed experimenting with different branding with clients in my freelancing career. Often for one client they prefer the corporate business name, whereas another client may respond much more favorably to dealing with me by personal name instead to great success.
I'm really excited to see how this helps all of you with your businesses and look forward to all the ways this feature will grow.
